Good questions, clear answers
Before the first walk.
Here are the practical things you might like to know. For anything particular to your dog, a conversation is the best place to start.
How do I book a walk?
Call or email with your area, your dog’s needs and the days you have in mind. We will check availability and arrange an initial meet and greet. A booking is only confirmed when the service, date, price and arrangements have been agreed directly.
Is the first meet and greet free?
Yes. The initial meet and greet is free, with no obligation to book. It gives your dog time to get acquainted and lets us discuss routines, health, behaviour, access and emergency contacts.
What makes a walk training-enriched?
It combines exercise and sniffing time with short, reward-based practice of the everyday manners you would like to reinforce. Think checking in, calm pauses and polite lead walking. We agree sensible goals together; results vary with each dog and consistent practice at home.
How are small group walks matched?
We discuss temperament, size, energy, health and handling needs, then assess introductions carefully. Dogs need to be comfortable together. Group size depends on safe handling and any local restrictions; a solo walk may be the better fit. Group places are never guaranteed after an enquiry.
Which areas do you cover?
Braintree is the core area, roughly within a 3-mile radius. Bocking, Great Notley, Rayne, Black Notley and Cressing may also be covered, depending on your location and the diary. Share your postcode privately when you enquire so we can confirm.
What happens in bad weather?
A little rain need not stop a suitable walk. Heat, ice, storms or other unsafe conditions may mean changing the time, shortening the outing, agreeing a home visit or cancelling. Your dog’s comfort comes first. We will agree any service or price change with you; if we cannot provide the booked service, no cancellation fee applies and any payment for it is refunded.
What if my dog is unwell?
Please get in touch before the visit and seek veterinary advice when needed. An unwell dog should not join a group. We will discuss whether to postpone or agree a suitable alternative. If a dog becomes unwell in our care, we will contact you and seek veterinary help when necessary. This service is not veterinary care.
How much cancellation notice do you need?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice where possible. There is no automatic late-cancellation charge at launch. Let us know promptly if plans change, especially if your dog is unwell. Any future policy change will be agreed before it affects a booking. Statutory cancellation rights are unaffected.
How do I pay?
The payment method and due date are agreed directly before your booking is confirmed. There is no payment facility on this website. You will know the full service price before agreeing to a booking.
Do you walk on bank holidays?
Bank-holiday and unusual scheduling requests depend on availability. Please ask early. We will confirm the arrangement and full price before you book; no extra charge is added without your agreement.
Can you help with nervous dogs or large breeds?
The service is built on personal experience of medium and large breed dogs. Tell us honestly about your dog’s triggers, history and handling needs. We will assess suitability at the meet and greet, and may recommend a different service or specialist support when appropriate.
Do you offer boarding or day care?
Home boarding and day care are not offered at launch. The current services are walks, puppy or drop-in visits, and suitable everyday training support.
Will my dog be let off the lead?
Lead arrangements are agreed in advance. Off-lead time is never automatic: it would require your explicit permission, suitable recall, a safe location and compliance with local rules. Where any of those conditions are uncertain, your dog stays on a suitable lead.
